Classic Paper for Modern People

SUPERMODULE is the creative work of David Riofrio. I am a graphic designer based in San Francisco. I launched SUPERMODULE in 2009 to provide exclusive and modern printed objects using classic techniques.

About the "Stay Warm" series

The Stay Warm series includes greeting cards and prints that are interpretations of classic textile patterns like plaid and houndstooth. My fondness for plaid patterns extends from the subtle to the outlandish, and my work exploits the graphic qualities of these patterns in a way that makes them extensions of the fabrics they mimic.

Most items are printed on 100% cotton paper that is made with waste fiber from the garment
industry, further extending their relationship with clothing. Some of my work is also printed on 100% recycled paper, meaning they are produced without the need for any virgin tree fibers. The cards are masterfully printed on antique letterpress, then assembled and packed with love from California. The resulting product is incredibly soft and tactile.

I do not design for SUPERMODULE with a specific attention to particular holidays or events,
although my cards are definitely suitable for them. I would instead prefer to design for a more universal idea of warmth, regardless of the season. Please consider these cards vehicles for your own idea of personal expression, and an encouragement to help make the world a less chilly place.

Stay warm out there, friends.
